I had the pleasure of meeting and speaking with Lee at Astoria on March 16th, while dining with my cousins Bob and Char Stephens. Lee came to the OPS team from Sales in October 2021. Lee’s first team event, he was simply so excited to meet everyone in person. Lee talked about cheese and wine the entire time capturing everyone’s attention. We played a white elephant holiday game where of course Lee’s gift was wine and cheese. We were planning for our next team outing to be at Lee’s family restaurant and he was thrilled that we all wanted to support the family business. Lee worked hard and wanted to learn EVERYTHING about mortgage operations and project management. I had an opportunity to help mentor Lee as he was studying to achieve his first certificate from PMI. Lee was instrumental in his most recent project - in fact Lee volunteered (and was excited) to spend time working with me directly on a project deployment Sunday March 6, that would go live companywide Monday March 7. Lee would always ask the team how they were doing and always thanked them for teaching him. Lee would even thank the team for just spending time talking and listening to him talk about food, history, and faith. He was the first in meetings and always smiling. Lee would always tell me he was so thankful I gave him an opportunity and took a chance on him. I would kindly remind Lee he accepted the job so really he gave me the opportunity to work with him and he took a chance on me as his leader. I am thankful Lee decided to join the team and that our paths crossed in life.
I will always remember the wonderful conversations I had with Lee. He was wise beyond his years. He touched my heart tremendously. Godspeed. RIP Lee.
My deepest condolences to Lee's family. I worked with Lee at Nations Lending and had an opportunity to get to know him a bit more during a recent project. Such a wonderful person! He will be missed.
Steve and Elaine and the entire Daniels family. We are so deeply saddened by the loss of Lee. He was always a sweet and kind soul. Kindness exuded from him from the time he was young.
