Military Honors

Military Funeral  Honors Detail

Military honors are available to all veterans, offering a dignified tribute regardless of their rank or the location of their burial. These honors are a reflection of the nation's gratitude for their service, ensuring that every veteran receives the respect and recognition they deserve.

Upon death, we will call and request an active duty honor guard from your branch of service. All military branches will require a legible copy of the veteran’s DD 214. The ceremony will consist of a flag folding presentation to the next of kin and the playing of TAPS. The military does not accept payment or gratuities for these services under any circumstance. If families request a rifle salute for the veteran we will coordinate a local, volunteer veterans organization to perform the rifle salute to accompany the active-duty flag presentation and TAPS. Often local VFWs, American Legions and Marine Corp Leagues will have a military honors team with a chaplain. The funeral director will coordinate these services. If you or your loved one is a current or past member of a local VFW, American Legion, or Marine Corps League please let us know so we can contact them for potential military honors.
