Russell Modny, age 91, beloved husband of Christine (nee Walasiewicz) of 33 years. Loving father of David (Kelly), John (Carole), Philip (Carol), and David Simonski (deceased). Dear grandfather of Jessica, Caitlin, Lauren, and Anna. Cherished uncle of Marie, Bob, and Lenny. Son of the late Rudloph and Marie.
U.S. Army Veteran. Russell was an Ohio University graduate, and received a Master’s Degree from Case Western Reserve University.
Russell was a retired teacher of over 30 years for the Cleveland School System.
VISITATION on SUNDAY from 2 to 6PM at YURCH FUNERAL HOME, 5618 Broadview Rd. Parma, OH 44134. FUNERAL SERVICE on MONDAY SEPTEMBER 15, 2025 at 10AM at ST. JOHN CANTIUS CHURCH, 906 College Ave. Cleveland, OH 44113, with PRAYERS AT THE FUNERAL HOME at 9:30AM. Interment at Brooklyn Heights Cemetery.
