Nick and I met at Kent State as students in Manchester Hall. Later, we were roommates when we moved off campus and spent a lot of time together, whether at the gym lifting weights or just carousing. He contacted me while I was living in Nebraska and asked for assistance with his first icon screen for a church in Lorain. I helped him with a couple others before he struck out on his own with Christine.
We had a great time sailing on Lake Erie in a neighbors boat, losing parts of the rudder and "struggling" to get back to shore. We were laughing too hard to get serious. Taking winter hikes in James Day Park, with Christine, to cook sausage and beans and just talk.
Nick was my best man at my wedding. Then I didn't see him much.
I can't understand why this disease would take such a good man.
