Nada Kabaivanoff's Obituary
Nada Kabaivanoff passed peacefully September 13th, 2024 with family by her side. She was blessed by a loving marriage to her husband, Nikola, for 45 years before his passing in 2018. The two built a beautiful life together in Brooklyn. They loved their home and garden – something Nada continued until her last days growing figs, tomatoes and flowers. They worked together as chef and seamstress for 21 years at the Union Club. Their nephew Kris, whom they loved like a son, worked and learned alongside them. Through time spent at the club and their home, Nick and Nada taught the importance of hard work, good manners, gardening and grilling. They set the example of what a loving, committed relationship in a peaceful home looks like. Nada was the loving aunt of Kris Kodzev (Regina), Patricia Feeney, Michael Grozan, George Grozan (Laura). Great aunt to Kaitlynn, Karalynn, Aleksandar and Maksim Kodzev, Ian, Sean, and Colin Feeney, Mitch, Mandy, Emily, and Tommy Grozan, William and Celia Grozan. Sister and dear friend to Atanas Kodzev (Mara) and Marika Avramov (Sterio-Aleksandar and Vlatko). And preceded in death by siblings Stamena Nikolov (Georgi-Bisera and Jove), Mihail Kodzev (Ivanka-Ramona and Gordana) and Doca Kalkov (Ilija- Vanco and Venci) and many great nephews and nieces and their families. Krste and Petra Kodzev, Nada’s parents, were blessed with a large, continually growing, family. Nada was loved by many family and friends who will miss her dearly – especially those back home in Macedonia and her neighbors who became family, Tom and Anna Burns (Mark, Alex and Maria).
