I knew David in college. A man ahead of his time. Every word he said was true.
I just found out about David's passing! This has saddened me very much! He was a dedicated Libertarian and a member of our organization for almost twenty years. We will miss him!

Dave in his zeal for protection and furtherance of liberty aided my candidacy as a Libertarian for congress in the Ohio Congressional district for Lake, Ashtabula, and part of Cuyahoga counties in 2000. He also supported our efforts to develop the Lake County chapter of the Ohio Libertarian Party.
For me David has been a supportive friend. I thank the LORD for the Privilege of knowing David. May he rest in peace.
It was a honor and a privilege to call David Macko my friend for over 30 years. All of us will be hard pressed to ever meet anyone that had the zeal, enthusiasm, dedication and energy for the principles of Americanism, liberty and freedom that David espoused so articulately. Once David retired, he traveled extensively and helped campaign for other like minded candidates, he sought signatures on petitions on their behalf or would run for office himself. This Son Of The Republic will be greatly missed. God Bless the memory of this great Christian Patriot. David will be greatly missed.

No one worked for liberty as hard and for as many years as David Macko. His zealous pursuit of the God-given rights described in the Declaration of Independence and of the limited republic laid out in the U.S. Constitution consumed most of his life and provided meaning to the phrase, "Extremism in the defence of liberty is no vice!" David was learned in history, politics, and public policy and was generous with his time and money to help candidates who shared his principles and movements that promised to advance his goals of peace and freedom. David was as tireless and dedicated on his rare vacations. I never had the dubious pleasure of sprinting around a Civil War battlefield with him, but I watched in awe as he devoured the contents of museums. This world will not be the same without David, but his example should inspire us to pursue our causes with equal enthusiasm even though we lack his zeal and energy.
