Mary Voss' Obituary
Mary Voss, nee Mary Katanik, passed away at 97 years old on March 6, 2020 in Palm Springs, California. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 19, 1923 to George and Anna Katanik. Mary graduated from John Adams High School and attended Fenn College. During WWII, she married Robert Voss of Orange, Ohio. He graduated from Baldwin Wallace College and was employed as a teacher and coach in Strongsville, Ohio. In 1951 they moved to Burbank, California, where Robert was the Athletic Director and later a counselor at Burroughs High School. Mary established "Voss Interiors" with her friend Charlotte Baughman in Burbank. They continued the interior design business until 1986 when Robert and Mary retired and moved to Palm Springs, California. They liked to play golf and especially enjoyed traveling. They also enjoyed buying, renovating and selling homes. In 1991 they moved to Pebble Beach, California. In 1999 Robert passed away in their summer home in Madison, Ohio. She was predeceased by son Gregory Voss, brothers Michael and George Katanik, and sister Anne Rodusky. She is survived by nephews Tim Katanik and Charles Krakora, niece Barbara Pattinson, and multiple grand and great grand nieces and nephews in Ohio, Michigan and California. Funeral services will be held graveside at St. Theodosius Orthodox Christian Cemetery, 8200 Biddulph Road, Brooklyn, Ohio at 1:00 PM, April 6, 2020. In lieu of flowers, you may donate to your favorite charity. Regarding real estate, Mary said, "location, location, location!" Regarding her young relatives, she said, "education, education, education!"
