Mary Anastos' Obituary
Mary Anastos (nee Economou), 96, beloved wife of the late Leo, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2025. She is survived by her three children James, Robert, and Thomas, and her cherished grandchildren Simon and Alice. She was preceded in death by her sisters Theodora and Chris. Mary graduated from West High School in Akron in 1946 and received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Akron University in 1950. She later went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Education from Kent State University. She was a public school teacher in the early 1950s and an Instructor at Cuyahoga Community College in the 1970s and 80s. She was a charter member of St. Paul Greek Orthodox Church, taught Sunday School, and served as the Sunday School Superintendent. She was a devoted member of the St. Paul Philoptochos and enjoyed crocheting baby blankets given as gifts to infants in the parish. She was a lovely woman who never had a harsh word to say to or about anyone. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St. Paul Greek Orthodox Church Philoptochos (www.stpaulgoc.org).

FUNERAL SERVICE at ST. PAUL GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH, 4548 Wallings Rd., North Royalton, OH 44133 on WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2025, at 11AM.
Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park.
