Julie Langos' Obituary
Julie was born in Bellaire, Ohio on March 23rd, 1938. Her parents were John and Evangelia Nicholaou, immigrants from Karpathos Greece. She grew up in Wheeling, West Virginia. With her family, she moved to Cleveland, Ohio in her senior year of high school. After graduating from Lincoln High School in 1956, she worked as a secretary. Soon after graduation, she was introduced to Steve Langos by her Uncle John Alexiades. They fell in love and got married on March 1, 1959, at the Greek Orthodox Church of Annunciation in Cleveland. It was the beginning of their legacy.
They had three wonderful children, Frank (Laura), John (Susan) and Lisa (Rick), together which they were very proud of. Julie was a loving grandmother to Steve (Rebeca), Jamie Kiser (Matthew), and Jimmy. She was also a cherished great-grandmother to Rodrigo, Noah, Lucas, and Savannah. She was a beloved sister to Mary Fountis (deceased) (John)and Deno Nicholas (Joyce), and admired by many family & friends.
Julie was the most wonderful wife and mother to her family. They were her focus and purpose in life. Her church and faith were the base of her life, and everything else fell into place after that. She was the most patient, loving, and caring Mother as well as the most truly devoted wife. Entertaining family and friends, was a gift she had, as anyone who entered her spotless home was always welcomed with open arms and something to eat! Family, friends, acquaintances, and strangers all felt her love and caring way. She was always happy to be around people. Loving came easy to her, it was her nature.
Then came the restaurant business…with her husband Steve and three children, she built an amazing reputation of great food and hospitality. She always gave the personal touch and a million-dollar smile to all her customers. It kept them coming back, just to see her wonderful family all working side by side and that’s what she thrived on. As long as she was together with her family, nothing else mattered.
In her spare time, Julie loved to cook for her family, spend time with her grandchildren, travel to see her much loved family in Arizona and Florida, and shopping with her daughter. She was always involved with her church volunteering her time with great honor. Anyone who encountered Julie felt her love and compassion.
Towards the end of her beautiful life, Julie remained focused on her most treasured family. She knew they were all around her. And that love she taught, came back full circle to the love and compassion she always gave.
Julie passed away painlessly and beautifully, surrounded by her family, which was her world. It was her time, and she knew it was time to go to her beloved Steve, Father, Mother and Marigoula (sister). She will be greatly missed here on earth. Until we meet again in our afterlife, may her most beautiful memory be eternal.
Kalo Paradiso.
