James Lee Cochran's Obituary
James Lee Cochran, 85 of Parma, Ohio passed away on 08/12/19 at his home of natural causes. He is survived by his beloved and adored wife Jane (nee Levis) of 65 years and 11 months exactly, children Janet Cochran Harrivel and Jacquie Cochran of Ohio and James Lee Jr of Alabama. He also leaves behind his adored Granddaughter Amy Lee Harrivel and her life partner, Katrina Eads, and several nieces and nephews in addition to adopted family members. He was preceded in death by his parents Hazen and Elizabeth Cochran (nee Wagner), and his sister Judith Cochran Garnett and her husband Ronald Garnett.
Jim had two loves, his family and the Masonic Brotherhood of which he was a member for over fifty years. Well maybe a third love, the United States Navy, in which he served in Active and reserve duty for over 28 years.
He was a quiet and sensitive man, who loved his country and was proud of his service in the Navy Seabees. A technical wizard, he rose through the ranks of Ohio Bell from a line man to an engineer manager with only a high school education. He loved his computer and cell phone and embraced the new technology of texting. It was not uncommon to receive a 20-line text from him daily, which will be greatly missed.
But his true loves were his family and the Masons. He was always there to lend a helping hand to any of his children, all they needed to do was reach out. He was madly in love with his wife from age 17 until he took his last breath. He presided over several chapters and lodges throughout the years and had just recently given up his position as the property manager of the temple. He was still serving on the Temple board.
A Celebration of Life service is planned for Tuesday August 20th at 1pm at his second home, the Berea Masonic Temple, located on Eastland Road in Berea, Ohio which is open to all. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Masonic Home 4931 Nettleton Road, Medina OH 44256
