Eva Emanuel's Obituary
Eva Emanuel, age 101, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Beloved wife of George Emanuel (deceased), and sister of Catherine Smirlis (deceased), William Pappas (deceased) and John Pappas (deceased). She was mother of George Emanuel, Dennis Emanuel and Carol Emanuel and proud grandmother of Jennifer Young, Ellie Young, Daniel Emanuel, Matthew Emanuel and Kelsey Young (deceased).
Born in Franklinville, New Jersey, to Greek immigrant parents, Eva grew up proud of her heritage and her family. In 1945, she married George Emanuel and moved to Cleveland, Ohio, where together they raised their three children. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose love, patience, and kindness shaped the lives of all who knew her.
Eva was a faithful and active member of St. Paul Greek Orthodox Church from its inception, serving for a number of years as church secretary. Deeply committed to her faith and community, she was a founding member of the Daughters of Penelope, past president of the Ladies Auxiliary, and an active member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society, the Eastern Orthodox Women's Guild, the Velvendo Society, and the Red Hats. Through her service, she touched countless lives and left behind a legacy of devotion and generosity.
She will be remembered as a woman of great strength, compassion, and grace-a loving presence. She was beloved by all who had the privilege of knowing her. May her memory be eternal.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Paul Greek Orthodox Church Philoptochos Society.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 17 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at St. Paul Greek Orthodox Church, 4548 Wallings Road, North Royalton, Ohio, 44133, with the funeral service to follow at 12:00 PM.
Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery following the service.
