Ellen Jouriles' Obituary
Ellen Jouriles, 93, passed peacefully on October 31, 2022. The daughter of George and Irene Emanuel Stamulis and sister of Nick (Mary) all deceased. Ellen grew up in St. Louis, surviving the Depression and World War II. She attended Washington University as an aspiring journalist but was forced to leave school due to her father’s illness. She married John Jouriles (deceased) in 1953, a marriage that lasted 67 years. Ellen was a loving mother and grandmother who generously opened her home to neighbors, friends, and family. She worked at Ohio Bell, National City Bank and the Ohio Lottery. She was involved lifelong in the Greek Orthodox community, notably as a Sunday school teacher and chair of the Saints Constantine and Helen Cathedral Festival. She had four children Greg (Christine Crockett), Joan (John Lory), Nick (Michele) and Timothy (deceased). She is also survived by her grandchildren Philip, Joshua, Jennifer, and Asa.
All services at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 3352 Mayfield Rd. Cleveland Hts. OH 44118. on Thursday November 3, 2022. Visitation from 10 to 11AM with funeral service to follow at 11AM. Interment at Lake View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Saints Constantine and Helen Cathedral.
