Efstathios Tsesmelis' Obituary
Efstathios Tsesmelis, age 91, passed away on November 5, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Asimo. Loving father of Georgia (Angelo) Papandropoulos, Thomas (Catherine) Tsesmelis, Kelly, and Gus (Vicki). Dear grandfather of Jessica, Tonia, Matthew, Stathi, Alexander, and Ava. Great grandfather of Liliana, Angelo, and Stella Asimo. Son of the late Konstantinos and Georgia Tsesmelis. Brother of Evangelia, Demetrios, and Andreas (all deceased).
Efstathios served in the Greek Army then was a logger and owner/operator of a timber sawmill on the island of Samos prior to immigrating to the United States with his young family in 1971 in search of the American Dream.
Upon his arrival in Cleveland he worked at Cotton Club and Schmidt’s Brewery before opening The Garden Restaurant with his family. In his retirement he opened a Mediterranean food and goods market.
Efstathios was an avid gardener throughout his years with an affinity for rose bushes.
Efstathios faithfully served as a cantor at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Cleveland and St. Paul Greek Orthodox Church for over 40 years.
ALL SERVICES at ST. PAUL GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH, 4548 Wallings Rd. North Royalton, OH 44133 on THURSDAY NOVEMBER 9, 2023. VISITATION from 11AM-12NOON. FUNERAL SERVICE TO FOLLOW at 12 NOON. Interment at St. Theodosius Cemetery. Arrangements by Yurch Funeral Home.
