Dwight G Decker's Obituary
Dwight Gene Decker, age 62, went home to be with his Lord on Friday night, December 23, 2022 after a lifelong battle with type 1 diabetes.
On October 7, 1960, Dwight was born in Cleveland, OH, to Russell Grant and Edna Leola Decker. He spent his life in the Cleveland area, graduating from Rhoades High School in 1978 and working various jobs throughout the years. He was an active member of Parma Heights Baptist Church, where he helped on sound team and sang in the choir until the effects of T1D slowed him down. The people of Parma Heights Baptist were very dear to him.
Dwight was preceded in death by both of his parents. He is survived by his brothers, Clayton (Brenda) and Scott (Laura) as well as his nieces and nephews: Becky (Greg) Skiver, Jonathan (Jean) Decker, Carrie (Kurt) Loosenort, Mark (Maggie) Decker, Jackie (Aaron) McCauley, Jessie (Mark) Gogel, Joy (Dan) Ford, Jenna (Luke) Wolthuis, Elise (Micah) Dykstra, Julie Decker, Jenny (Tim) Erney, and Jaden Decker plus a host of great-nephews and great-nieces. They will miss Dwight’s somewhat snarky wit, love of music, and diehard willingness to follow the Steelers no matter what.

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.” 2 Tim 4:7-8 KJV
