Dorothy Martinos' Obituary
Dorothy passed away peacefully in her home on Long Island, New York on Wednesday March 24, 2021. Dorothy’s life was framed by her love of family, faith, and friendship.
The beloved wife of Georgios D. Martinos for 49 years, she was preceded in his death in 2007; devoted daughter of George and Elizabeth Pastis; caring sister of Zachary Katsikis (Zane) both deceased; Stella Thomas (Louis-deceased); Vasilia Pastis-deceased,
Diane Manos (Andrew) both deceased, and Bill Pastis (Connie).
Loving Aunt, Great Aunt and Great-Great Aunt to many.
Dorothy was raised in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated with a master’s degree from Fenn College. She was a dedicated teacher in both Germany and the Cleveland Public School District. After meeting her husband Georgios, they travelled the world together before settling in New York to own and operate an Arthur Treacher’s Fish and Chip franchise.
Funeral service will be held at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 22909 Center Ridge Road, Rocky River, Ohio on Tuesday March 30 visitation 9 am to 11 am and Funeral at 11 am. Interment St. Theodosius Cemetery.
Dorothy’s love for her family and her Greek Orthodox faith were central to her life.
