Some of my earliest memories of Dad would have to be the many hikes Mike and I took with him in the Metro Parks Chagrin Reservation. Mom would stay at home and make park stew while we would hike the hills by Squires Castle, around Sunset Pond and through the rest of the park. I remember the time Dad carved Mikes and My initials and the year 1962 in the bark of a giant tree. He told us that years from now we could bring are children back and put their initials next to ours. I’m still looking for that tree!
My Dad was kind and gentle, he was strong for us and he quietly lead by his example.
