Dear Helen,
It was wonderful to get to know more about you and your remarkable mother throughout her end of life journey. I keep using the same words to describe her over and over…amazing, intelligent, totally aware of her past, and even of our complicated current events. However, most of all, I was impressed with her ability to love….to love unconditionally. This is a gift that she has definitely passed on to you.
You are probably the most giving, tolerant, patient, determined, loving person that I have ever met. If only the world had a million clones of you Helen, it would be a much better place. I ran across a simple memorial tribute that I thought might be fitting for Yaiyai. It was written by Erin Van Vuren.
I will not be another flower,
picked for my beauty and left to die.
I will be wild, difficult to find,
and impossible to forget.
Caliope Karakoudas has definitely left her positive mark on our world. I know that she will be remembered for generations to come. Little Alex will see to that. The dear Lord surely had a smile on his face when she waltzed through those pearly gates. Now she is free to sow her wonderful seeds of love in heaven at her frisky, now pain free pace. So, until you meet Yaiyai again, celebrate the life of your dear mother and treasure those amazing memories.
Love, Susan Lee
I am truly sorry for your loss. I have such great memories running over to your house when we were younger. Your mom, Théa, because that's how she treated me, as a member of the family, always fed us well and I enjoyed just spending time together. Lots of stories and laughs. May her memory be eternal. Your written tribute to her is so beautifully written. Ζωή σε σας. You're all in my thoughts and prayers. Love, Kelly
