Bessie Sarris' Obituary
Vasiliki “Bessie” Sarris (nee Binikos), beloved wife of Athanasios “Tommy” Sarris. Loving mother of Nicholas Sarris and Clio Sarris Gemelas (Themistoklis). Grandmother of Vasiliki, Argyro, and Nikolas Gemelas. Daughter of Konstantinos Binikos and Hariklia Poulou Binikou (both deceased). Bessie earned her angel wings at age 85, Born in 1934, Vasiliki came to America in 1947 from the small village of Xylosirtis, Ikaria, Greece. She came to Cleveland, met the love of her life Tom and raised her two children Nick and Clio and loved her son in law, Themistoklis as a son. She became a grandmother to Vasiliki, Argyro, and Nikolas. She raised her children and grandchildren with undying love and sacrifice. Until her end, her concern was her family. Her big heart overflowed with love for all her relatives and friends that are too many to name. Being an only child, she truly felt her cousins were not cousins, but siblings. If there ever was a picture of love, she was. All contributions in Bessie’s honor will be kindly donated to her beloved village of Xylosirtis, Ikaria, Greece… the cherished village that filled her life with beautiful and everlasting memories.
