Andromahi Papouras' Obituary
Andromahi “Andrea” Papouras (nee Maheras) was a loving matriarch whose kindness and selflessness touched all who knew her. She passed away peacefully on January 6, 2024 at the age of 84, surrounded by her adoring family. Beloved wife to the late John A. Papouras. Cherished mother of Maria (John) Volakis and Alexandra (George) Dedes. Adored and proud grandmother of Leonithas I. Volakis and Alexandro I. (Stephanie) Volakis. Dear sister of the late Eleni Tryfonidou.
Andrea was born in 1939 in Nestorio, Greece to Paschalis and Alexandra Maheras. From humble beginnings helping family, she embodied the immigrant spirit - working tirelessly alongside her husband as a skilled entrepreneur and restaurateur. Together they owned the Golden Ox Restaurants. While running successful businesses and providing for her family, Andrea always made time for little joys - gathering friends and relatives for meals full of laughter, passing down recipes and wisdom to new generations, unconditionally loving her grandchildren. Her endless care and compassion will live on through the people she touched. Heaven has gained a selfless soul too beautiful for this earth. Though deeply missed, Andrea’s radiant smile and kind heart will be cherished forever by those lucky enough to know her. May her memory be eternal.
