Andrew Albert Bidlen's Obituary
Andrew Albert Bidlen, age 79, joined his Savior on November 27, 2023 after a brief illness.
He was born on August 1, 1944, to Andrew George and Katherine A. (nee Keeling) Bidlen in Cleveland, Ohio. Andrew graduated from James Ford Rhodes High School in 1962, after which he served his apprenticeship and became a member of Bricklayers, Local 5.
He married Joanne McCosh in 1967, and they enjoyed nearly 47 years together in Parma, Broadview Heights and Wooster, Ohio, where they served faithfully in a local church. Their love of Jesus and the desire for those around them to also know the eternal assurance that only comes from faith in Him was evident in their everyday lives.
Andy worked almost 40 years as a mason before retiring in 2004. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren as well as working on projects in his workshop. He was always generous with his time to help others and share his many talents and wisdom.
Andy is preceded in death by his dear wife, Joanne; brother, Jerry Bidlen; and his sister Katherine Polasky. He leaves behind his son, Andrew (Meredith) and daughter, Kim (Kevin) Beyer; five grandchildren, Drew (Becky) Bidlen, Mallory (Anthony) Taylor, Audra Bidlen, Macy Bidlen, and Ava Beyer; and one great-granddaughter, Aurora Bidlen.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. at Broadview Heights Baptist Church with Reverend Joel Royalty officiating. Friends may call prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. Following the service, a meal and time of fellowship will be shared with family and friends. A private interment will precede the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his memory to Broadview Heights Baptist Church Building Fund, 9850 Broadview Road, Broadview Heights, Ohio, 44147 or Baptist Mid-Missions - bmm.org
