Gene E. Powers, 82, joined The Lord on Tuesday, Aug. 9, 2016. Loving husband of the late Joanna (nee Meconitis) for 45 years and Florence (nee Girard) for 15 years. Beloved father of David (Beth), Mark (Cathy), Jason (Lisa), and the late Julie. Grandfather of 8, great-grandfather of 11, and dear brother of David, Lynn, Jim, Penny, and the late Myrna. A humble and faithful servant of The Lord, who led many to the knowledge of Christ. Gene moved to Cleveland from his home in Roanoke, VA to join his brother David. He was employed at Chevrolet in Brookpark, Ohio and later became a successful independent trucking operator before serving as a prison minister during his retirement in Charlotte County, Florida. VISITATION TUESDAY 10-12am. Followed by his FUNERAL SERVICE AT 12 NOON at YURCH FUNERAL HOME 5618 Broadview Rd. Parma, OH. Interment Brooklyn Heights Cemetery.
