    Dorothy A Kappos

    November 22, 1924 - September 7, 2020

    Dorothy Kappos, age 95, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2020. Beloved wife of the late George, daughter of Nicholas and Ioanna Andos, loving mother of Alex (Paula), Dennis (Connie) and George Jr. (Laura). Cherished Yiayia of Maria (Bob) Kehres, Christopher, Elyse (Michael) Deckard, Gregory, George III (Dawna), Kristen (Mark) Hayes, Alexa (Kevin) Szczepinski and Tommy. Great Yiayia to Jack, Ryan and Sophia Kehres and Will and Gianna Deckard. Sister of Ann Saridakis(deceased), Frank (deceased), Paul Andos (deceased), Betty (deceased), Francis Matzorkis (deceased), Gus (deceased), Nicholas Andos (deceased) Nancy, George Andos (deceased) and Sandra. Godmother, aunt, great aunt and great-great aunt to many. Dorothy was the oldest of six children born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 22, 1924 to Nicholas and Ioanna Andos, who immigrated from Greece. Dorothy along with her two sisters and three brothers grew up in a home filled with love and laughter and the best Greek food. She met her future husband George where they both attended the Annunciation Church. Once married, they settled in Maple Heights where she was very involved with PTA and her sons' activities. Together they worked tirelessly to establish and serve their new church, Sts. Constantine & Helen. Dorothy taught Sunday School, was President of the Ladies Auxiliary, Philoptochos, baked for festivals and helped with the Youth Group. Side by side, they loved entertaining for holidays and had many lamb roasts and pool parties at their home in Pepper Pike. They traveled extensively and especially enjoyed their trips to Greece and the Holy Land. Her legacy will be her love of her family, her church, her heritage and her friends. Visitation Friday from 9:30am - 12:30pm at Sts. Constantine & Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 3352 Mayfield Road, Cleveland Heights, Ohio 44118. Funeral Service and Interment will be for family only. Interment at Lake View Cemetery. Please wear a mask and practice social distancing during visitation hours. In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made to Sts. Constantine & Helen Foundation or ZOE for Life!® 3352 Mayfield Road, Cleveland Heights, Ohio 44118.
